New York State’s
Equal Rights Amendment is on November’s ballot
New York’s Constitution does not currently protect all New Yorkers. On November’s ballot will be a constitutional amendment that protects all our rights and freedoms. At the present time there are protections against discrimination based on race and religion. This amendment would explicitly prohibit discrimination based on a person’s ethnicity, national origin, age, disability, and sex – including sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression.
