Art and Culture Groups

A Closer Look At Art (WL): This group consists of women who like all types of art and cultural experiences. Each month the group visits and/or discusses an art exhibit, play, dance performance or concert. Members rotate in seeking out interesting opportunities for the group to experience.
Date/Time: 2nd Wednesday at 12:00 PM.

Architecture (O): This group does walking tours and discussions mostly in Philadelphia and occasionally in the suburbs looking at historically interesting buildings. Tours are sometimes arranged through the Preservation Alliance.
Date/Time: 3rd Thursday at 10:00 AM.

Art in Many Places (WL): Join a group of women who like to explore a wide range of art from museums, houses, gardens, walking tours, etc, in Philadelphia and its environs. Lunch will follow post venue. Each member of the group must take responsibility for selecting the venue during her assigned month, send out the emails for coordination and confirmation of attendance, make the reservation for lunch and arrange carpools if necessary.
Date/Time: 2nd Friday at 10:00 AM. Time may vary depending on venue.

Art Matters (WL): This group defines art from a broad perspective which includes visits to traditional and avant-garde places of interest. Occasionally an out-of-town trip to a special exhibit is planned. Lunch follows.
Date/Time: 3rd Thursday at 11:00 AM. May vary depending on venue.

Awesome Art Appreciation (WL): The group focuses on visiting not only mainstream exhibits but also in discovering new, unknown, and rarely visited art venues and artists that Philadelphia has to offer.
Date/Time: 1st Friday. Hours vary depending on venue.

Cultural Explorers (WL) NEW: Welcome to a group where interests abound. The group will be exploring the rich tapestry of art, music, dance, and much more. Depending on the venue, a day trip out-of-town may be planned. Lunch, optional, will follow each month's venue.

Date/Time: 3rd Friday at 11:00 AM. Time may vary depending on the venue selected.

Off The Beaten Track (WL): Two members of the group take responsibility to plan an outing that offers a creative experience for its members. These experiences are broad in range and have included art galleries, art installations, gardens, architectural and community highlights in Philadelphia and its surrounding environs.
Date/Time: 2nd Wednesday at 10:30 AM.

Philly Fun (WL): This group visits venues that mix education with fun, e.g., museums, houses of worship, gardens, historical memorials. Lunch follows.
Date/Time: 2nd Wednesday at 11:00 AM.

Point of View Photography (O): This group meets both in person and via Zoom. Members visit center city locales to shoot photos with a camera or iPhone, which are then shared for discussion. When on Zoom, members are given a photography assignment to complete and posted for discussion on the group’s Facebook page. There are also visits to photography exhibits and presentations by professional photographers.
Date/Time: 1st Tuesday at 2:00 PM.

Travel Close to Home (WL): This group travels between the city, suburbia, and nearby out-of-town locales to explore a wide variety of venues, both well-known and hidden gems.
Date/Time: 2nd Wednesday at 11:00 AM.
