Empowerment can take many forms.

 

We know that when we stay healthy and continuously gain knowledge and skills, we get stronger and more confident. Being in a community with other women -- sharing ideas, experiences and laughter -- makes us stronger as well.

In a world shaken by violence and uncertainty, empathy offers a path to healing.

 

Real empathy requires us to give up the sense of control we have when we're certain our perspective is "right". It requires us to connect with other people on an emotional level, and be vulnerable enough to examine parts of ourselves we might rather ignore.

None of us individually has the power to determine who will win on November 5th.

 

We have a lot of control in other areas, though.  In addition to setting boundaries for our media consumption (especially before bed!) there are practical steps we can take.
