Join Us for Winter weather confidence! In this program, co-sponsored by the Program Committee and the Caring Collaborative, we discover that Balance is a skill: it gets better with practice and deteriorates without it. Turn your balance system on in this Zoom lecture/workshop. Using demonstration and your participation, Carol will build a home balance practice for you! Already brushing your teeth? Try standing on one foot while touching the counter to build stability. Watching TV? Learn to extend your toes and flex your ankle to develop more nimble feet. How many times do you sit down or stand up from a chair during the day? Turn that routine activity into lower body strength training. Simple, right? While the decline in balance you may be encountering has a fancy name – progressive disequilibrium of aging -- the intervention to improve your balance doesn’t have to be fancy! This event will help you perceive and assess your own agility, mobility and stability. You can sneak activities into your daily life that boost the muscle strength, body alignment and mechanics, and confidence that contribute to a life in balance!
