NYC (V) - African American Art: A Mirror of Social Issues 3/31/23 (4pm ET)

Friday, March 31, 2023, 4:00 PM - 5:30 PM (ET)

Join this virtual conversation with African American artist and educator, Chichi Lovett, on the role that works of art play in commenting on and enhancing our mirror into social issues. We’ve been talking together once a month since April 2022 and we’re still going!

Each session is a separate and complete “journey” through a work of African American art. We not only talk about the specific work of art that Chichi presents, but we also discuss the surrounding and related issues that the art elicits and our feelings about it. Prior art experience of any kind is not necessary.  Professor Lovett’s discussions are for everyone! They’re fun, direct, sometimes intimate and always engaging. And we learn a lot!

It is not necessary to sign up for every session - $10 for members and $15 for guests. This is a “cameras on” live discussion – following the format of Professor Lovett’s popular on-line classes.
