NNJ (P) Remembering the Ladies: From Patriots in Petticoats to Presidential Candidates

Lets celebrate Women’s history month by visiting the historic Durand- Hedden House and Garden in Maplewood to see the performance of “Remembering the Ladies: From Patriots to Presidential Candidates. Storyteller Carol Simon Levin makes history accessible through her presentation of the story of the struggle for women’s rights through lively profiles of the women of all colors and creeds who fought to enhance women’s political participation.

Durand -Hedden House and Garden is an historic house museum and gardens dating back to 1790, owned by the township of Maplewood, which has spent the past 2 decades restoring it and turning it into a community historical space for workshops, events and community activities. The grounds are within the 2-acre public Grasmere Park and once was part of the original 40-acre plantation that surrounded it.
