LI (V):Combating Bias & Hate: One Woman’s Story

Our Anti-Racism Task Force invites you

to a special event.

Combating Bias & Hate: One Woman’s Story

Please join us as we welcome Former New York State Senator Anna Kaplan.

Senator Kaplan was a child refugee from Iran who has devoted her life to public service as a way of giving back to the country that has given her so much. Senator Kaplan will tell us about her solo travel to the United States as a child during the Iranian Revolution. She will discuss the issues she fought for as a NYS Senator and the laws she was instrumental in passing.

Following the explosion of hatred and bias that swept the country during the pandemic, Senator Kaplan has been outspoken about the need to combat the crisis through education, awareness, and tougher hate crime laws, introducing measures to directly address these issues in her work in the NYS Senate.
