Understanding the Right to Privacy
The Transition Network, Long Island Chapter is pleased to present a lecture by Jim Coll on Understanding the Right to Privacy. Rarely has an issue created as much fervor as the debate over a woman’s right to choose and the rights of the unborn. In this lecture, we will discuss the origins of judicial interpretation, progress of legal controversy prior to and following Roe vs Wade including the transformative Casey opinion and the Dobbs decision that returned the issue back to the states – and the continuing legacy of the decision beyond the issue of abortion.
Our program will be delivered by Jim Coll, adjunct professor of American and constitutional history at Hofstra University and Nassau Community College. He has written numerous articles for Politico, The Hill, City Journal and Newsday among other periodicals and is the Founder of Change NYS.org, a not-for-profit dedicated to promoting honest, open, responsive and limited government in our state.
