Most of us are fairly familiar with the major events of the 1960s that resulted in the Civil Rights Act of 1964. We know a bit about the lunch counter sit ins, Rosa Parks and the Montgomery bus boycott, Bloody Sunday, Freedom Riders, the March on Washington and the assassination of Martin Luther King. But we may never have thought much about the role of allies who participated in these events, and were willing to give their time, money and lives for the cause. How did they make a difference? What impact did they have? And yet, the struggle continues today... What can we learn? How can we bring those lessons forward? What is our responsibility? Join Dr. Larry Spruill, a Civil Rights Expert, in an exploration of this important topic. A number of TTN women met Dr. Spruill on a recent Civil Rights Trip where he provided us with a CAPTIVATING talk. He has agreed to prepare a presentation just for us and we are very excited to have him!
