And now for something a little different…When is an art gallery not a gallery in an art museum? When it’s a commercial art gallery. For June, let’s do a ‘gallery crawl’ taking in a couple of the art galleries in the area. What will we see—who knows? We’ll meet at noon at the Touchstone Gallery and spend about 30 – 45 minutes looking at the art and talking with the staff about, well, about whatever. Then, we’ll walk (about 12 min, 0.5 mile) over to Hemphill Gallery for another take by a different gallery owner.
Will you see something you want to buy? You can do that! Unless what you like has the dreaded ‘red dot.’ (A red dot on the artwork label indicates it’s already been sold.)
After Hemphill, we’ll head next door to A Baked Joint for lunch, a chance to discuss what we’ve seen, and some time to socialize.
