DC (P) - American Presidents and more at the Portrait Gallery (11:30 am)

This is a Museum Arts Special Interest Group (SIG) event.  SIGs are a member benefit. You must login to Register.

Let's start the Independence Day Holiday with a visit to the America's Presidents on the Second Floor at The National Portrait Gallery for a self-guided tour. Having designed a fresh exhibition layout for “America’s Presidents,” the Portrait Gallery has grouped the portraits into six historical chapters. Each of the first five sections is organized around a historical era and leads off with a presidential figure: Washington, Andrew Jackson, Abraham Lincoln, Theodore Roosevelt and Franklin Delano Roosevelt, while a sixth section examines the more recent history of the presidency. Updated content provides visitors with improved ways to understand historical events—both national and international—that coincided with the respective President’s time in office.

We'll meet in the National Portrait Gallery's lobby at 11:30 AM. The Portrait Gallery is located at 8th and G Streets ....across the street from the Gallery Place Metro. After the tour we will meet at 1pm at China Chilcano, Jose Andres newest restaurant featuring Peruvian food with a Chinese and Japanese flair.  Menu can be found at www.chinachilcano.com.

Hosted by Debra Roane.
