Join us for a private guided tour of “Black Founders: The Forten Family of Philadelphia” at the Museum of the American Revolution from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Thursday, November 16th. After the Black Founders tour, stay a while longer for a self-guided tour of the Main Gallery and to view Washington's War Tent film.
Black Founders: The Forten Family of Philadelphia relates the unique journey and exceptional story of this family of Revolutionaries while exploring the legacy of the American Revolution, the history of the American experiment of liberty, equality, and self-government, and the ongoing work to improve the nation’s dedication to the principle that “all men are created equal.
The 60-minute guided tour uses objects, documents, and immersive environments to explore the Forten family’ s roles in the Revolutionary War, business in Philadelphia, and abolition and voting rights from 1776 to 1876.
Registrants are invited to tour the rest of the museum on their own after the guided tour.

If you are a member and cancel your registration before the specified deadline, you will receive a full refund as a credit to your account. You can use the credit to pay for another event or put it toward your annual dues payment. Non-members will receive a refund on their credit card, minus a $4 processing fee.
