TTN (V) - Allyship Workshop (Wednesday, May 8, 7pm ET)

THE JOURNEY CONTINUES
TTN Allyship Workshop - Session 1  May 8th   7pm ET

"I've Unpacked My Invisible Knapsack of White Privilege, Now What?"
Dr. Fabiola Desmont, Speaker

The TTN Allyship Workshop is a 4-part course that explores the topic of Allyship, focusing on what you can do to become a better ally. The full Workshop series will provide you with information, strategies, and skills that will deepen your knowledge on the topic and provide you with a path toward answering that oft-asked question, "What can I do?".

Session 1, "I've Upacked My Invisible Knapsack of White Privilege, Now What?", Dr. Fabiola Desmont will set the stage for our exploration on Allyship.
This 90-minute presentation is designed to be a practical guide, emphasizing the importance of allyship and the individual preparation needed before stepping in to support people with marginalized identities.   Dr. Desmont will lead participants in examining barriers and points of confusion that arise when individuals strive to be effective allies to people (and communities) of color.   Dr. Desmont's many years of experience teaching, consulting, and training in the area of Diversity & Inclusion have given her a rich background and expertise.

Dr. Fabiola Desmont founded LEAP-Training and Consulting Services, LLC.  She is a clinical and organizational consultant who provides training and consultation to organizations interested in racial literacy and DEI-J (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Justice) work.  Dr. Desmont is also a trained Group Psychotherapist.  She received the Affiliate Societies Assembly Award for her tireless championing of anti-racism, diversity, equity and inclusion efforts.  Dr. Desmont is on faculty at Bryn Mawr College Graduate School of Social Services & Social Research, New York University Silver School of Social Work and EGPS-Eastern Group Psychotherapy Society.

Members and non-members are welcome to register. Invite a friend!  This first impactful session is open to all and required if you intend to take the full four week course.  It will be recorded and sent to all registered.
