11:30am Tour
Join us in Chester, NJ for a private tour of "The Living Sculptures" by Seward Johnson, a temporary exhibit at Willowwood Arboretum. A docent will guide us through the garden to the sculptures for one hour, discussing the artwork, Seward Johnson, and a bit about the arboretum itself.
Before or after the tour, you are free to stroll through the arboretum and enjoy the gardens, then drive into quaint, downtown Chester or Peapack-Gladstone for lunch or a snack if you wish. Alternatively, visit nearby Alstede Farms for farm fresh foods and fall favorites. A group lunch can be arranged if desired.
Dress for the weather as this tour will run rain or shine unless Willowwood cancels it due to dangerous weather conditions!!
Willowwood, located in southern Morris County, has "130 acres of rolling farm land, with about 2,100 kinds of native and exotic plants, many of them rare. In addition to the formal gardens near the residence and undisturbed forest, historic collections include oak, maple, willow, magnolia, lilac, cherry, fir, pine, a superb specimen of Dawn Redwood (Metasequoia) now more than 98’ tall, masses of ferns and handsome stands of field and forest wild flowers."
