The Contemporary Social Issues Committee and the creator of the theme, “Let Dreams Lead You”, Hafza Girdap would like to invite you to an informative and fun filled afternoon at the Turkish Cultural Center in Ronkonkoma, New York, Monday October 9, 2023.
Join us for a presentation by two educators who are leaders in Turkish history, women’s rights in Turkey and the Turkish culture art and religion. Hafza Girdap is executive director and spokesperson for AST (Advocates of Silenced Turkey) and the founding member of Set Them Free platform who works for the women’s rights violated particularly in Turkey. Girdap is also a PHD candidate in Women’s and Gender Studies at Stony Brook University.
Osman Oztopra, who has Masters Degrees from Rutgers University in Education and Seton Hall University in International Relations and Diplomacy. Oztopra has participated in diaglogue activities at the Cultural Center and Peace Islands Institute. As a practitioner, he organizes workshops and seminars for multifaith practitioners.
In addition, we will be treated to a four course Turkish lunch including soup, cheese pastry, grape leaves plus a choice of two main courses, dessert, coffee and tea.
