"Pool:  A Social History of Segregation"

Fairmount Water Works
640 Waterworks Drive, Philadelphia  19130

Wednesday, September 20 at 10 am

$15 TTN Members & $20 Non-TTN member guests

Don't miss this special opportunity to have a guided tour of "Pool: A Social History of Segregation" which investigates the nation's handling of race as it relates to public pools.  "Pool" brings this history to light, so that the next generation can continue the push for positive social change and the goal of deepening understanding of the connection between water, social justice and public health.

For more than 200 years, the Fairmount Water Works has told the story of our connection with water.  Located on historic Boat House Row (behind the Philadelphia Museum of Art), it has operated as a pumping station from 1815 to 1909, and aquarium from 1911 to 1962, as the Kelly Pool until 1972, and today serves as the Philadelphia Water Department's public education destination.

Following our private tour of "Pool" we will have time to explore the rest of this unique, historic site and then enjoy the option of lunch at Cosmic Cafe, nearby.

Space is limited, so please do not delay.  Please note that cancellations with refunds are accepted through 9/12/23.  Should you cancel before that date, TTN members will be issued a credit added to their TTN account, for future purchases.
