Eastern State Penitentiary was once the most famous and expensive prison in the world. Known for its grand architecture and strict discipline, this was the first true "penitentiary," a prison designed to inspire penitence, or true regret, in the hearts of prisoners. Its vaulted, sky-lit cells held nearly 85,000 people over its long history (1829-1971), including bank robber "Slick Willie" Sutton and "Scarface" Al Capone.
Following our private tour of this fascinating US National Historic Landmark, you will have the option of heading out to lunch nearby.

If you are a member and cancel your registration before the specified deadline, you will receive a full refund as a credit to your account. You can use the credit to pay for another event or put it toward your annual dues payment. Non-members will receive a refund on their credit card, minus a $4 processing fee.
