PHL (P) - HIAS Puffy Winter Coats, Hats and Glove Drive (11/15, 1-4pm)

Do you have any new or gently used puffy winter coats, warm hats or gloves that you are willing to donate to HIAS (Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society) clients? These much needed items will be distributed to low-income immigrants and refugee of all faiths and backgrounds.

The Philadelphia Community Volunteering committee will have a table set up in the lobby of the Dorchester between 1pm and 4pm for drop off. Short term parking is available at the entrance.

HIAS has an urgent need for clean, thick, puffy winter coats with working zippers and buttons without rips or tears that are suitable for inclement weather and the coldest days of the winter. The greatest need is for adult puffy coats but children puffy coats are appreciated as well. Warm hats, gloves and mittens are also needed. At this time HIAS has very limited storage space and does not need any wool coats, spring or summer jackets.

HIAS Pennsylvania supports low-income immigrants of all backgrounds as they build new lives in our community. Through immigration legal services and an array of social services, they work to address their clients needs, defend their rights, and advocate for their equitable inclusion in American society.

From their first steps on American soil to the oath of citizenship, HIAS Pennsylvania helps immigrants and refugees across all faiths and backgrounds to navigate the complexities of American society and its legal system. Their work spans legal, social support, and citizenship services and providing much needed clothing and supplies.
