About this event
Are you interested in learning how to become an ASAP (After School Activities Partnership) high school debate judge? Join us for an informative zoom call hosted by Caroline Henley Riccio, Director of Strategic Engagement at ASAP, and learn about the basics of high school debate judging, review helpful documents, view an actual demo debate together and get answers to any questions you might have.
Debate empowers students to explore important issues and find their voice. With 45 clubs and more than 500 students (grades 4-12), ASAP Debate is committed to providing youth in Philadelphia public schools with the same opportunity as their suburban and private school peers to develop the essential researching habits, persuasive writing and public speaking skills that will prepare them for success in high school and college.
ASAP holds debate competitions throughout the year, on a weekly basis, to help students improve their debate cases and public-speaking skills.
Prior to joining the zoom call please review this 10 minute debate Judging E-course. There is no need to complete the portion of the course that asks you to sign up for the debate application that is used by ASAP.
