CHI (V) - Navigating the Healthcare System (6:30pm ET)

About this event

Are you confused and overwhelmed by our healthcare system?
Are you struggling with how to help your aging parents while maintaining your relationship with them?
Are you hoping not to burden your adult children with your own healthcare issues?
Are you a solo ager wondering what supports you need to have in place?

Join us for a presentation and Q&A with experienced private patient advocate, Gayle Byck, Founder of InTune Health Advocates.

In this 90-minute program, you’ll learn how to:

• Organize and share essential health information

• Clarify one’s wishes through advanced care planning

• Understand the role of Medicare, Medicaid, and private health insurance, especially in long-term care

• Have difficult conversations with aging parents (such as when is it time to move or relinquish the car keys)

• Secure outside help when you need it

Let’s reduce the stress and anxiety around navigating the healthcare system for you and your loved ones! Join us to learn and get your questions answered.

Join us on Wednesday, March 6, 6:30-8:00pm eastern time (5:30-7:00 central) over Zoom.

CHI-GayleByck
Gayle Byck is a board certified patient advocate (BCPA) and certified senior advisor (CSA). She works with individuals and their family members who need help navigating the health care system. That includes helping people prepare for and accompanying them to doctor appointments, making sure follow up and next steps happen, coordinating care, researching treatment options and clinical trials, identifying resources to help people stay in their homes, negotiating medical bills, appealing insurance denials, and having difficult conversations about end-of-life wishes and supporting clients through that process. Her goal is to make a difficult situation easier for her client and their family members. She works with other members of the health care team, including the patient and family, to support that goal.
