Spend the morning at the beautiful Garfield Park Conservatory. A bit of nature in the early summer in this calm oasis in the middle of the city. Enjoy 2 acres of gardens under glass as well as approximately 10 acres of outdoor gardens, and permanent installation of pieces by world renowned glass artist Dale Chihuly.
Chicago’s Garfield Park Conservatory is one of the largest and most stunning botanical conservatories in the nation. Often referred to as “landscape art under glass,” the Conservatory showcases thousands of plant species from around the world throughout eight indoor display gardens.
Bring a camera, a sketch book, or just contemplate the greenery and blooms as we wander through the Conservatory and Gardens. We can enjoy the space and then break for lunch at the nearby Inspiration Kitchen.
The Inspiration Kitchen is a social enterprise restaurant located in the East Garfield Park neighborhood of Chicago, with proceeds going to support Inspiration Corporation's job training program for individuals ready to launch themselves in a new career.
Details: parking is free. We can also set up a car pool for people who might want a lift. The Conservatory is also accessible from the Green Line.
We are booked for a group reservation for twelve people. (It may be able to be adjusted). Admission is free; however, the park requests a voluntary $ 10 donation. That can be done in person at the park.
We will meet in front of the conservatory at 9:55 AM as they request arrival 5 minutes before
admission time.
Our reservation at the nearby Inspiration Kitchen is for 11:30 AM.
