Join us for breakfast at 9:30 am at Tally-Ho at 9923 Falls Rd in Potomac Village in the shopping center just behind the Exxon station. If you have time, please look at the menu beforehand.
After breakfast, we will be able to head down River Rd to the Buddhist Temple,18400 River Rd.
We will tour Kunzang Palyul Choling, an organization for Buddhist study and practice in the Nyingma tradition whose local Temple is located on 65 acres in Poolesville, Maryland. The property includes a peace park, meditation gardens, a prayer room, Stupa sacred Buddhist structures, and crystals to extend prayers and energy out to the world.
Our tour will include both these aspects of the Buddhist Temple, as well as watching the Monks at prayer and a traditional Tibetan Drum Circle. Anyone interested can show up for a guided meditation at 10am. The Temple also has many animals on the property.
If the weather is over 65 degrees with no rain, thunderstorms or high winds, we can also visit a parrot rescue and sanctuary, run by Garuda Aviary on Temple grounds. If the weather doesn’t cooperate, we will try to set up a separate visit to the parrot rescue and sanctuary on another day.
Although the tour is free, donations are appreciated.
