Join us in the exciting first steps as we begin our collaboration with Why Not Prosper (WNP), a women’s re-entry program following incarceration. Located in Germantown, WNP helps women from prison systems discover their own strength by providing them with the support and resources that will empower them to become responsible, economically self-sufficient and contributing members of the community.

Why Are We Partnering With WNP?
Several years ago, WNP received a grant from the Giving Circle.  Since then, the organization has taken off.  Due to this fundraising, Rev. Michelle Simmons, WNP Founder and Executive Director, has been able to expand the services they provide to formerly incarcerated women.  WNP hired a group of successful graduates known as "Sisters with a Goal" or SWAG, and Women's Connection has the opportunity to collaborate with them on future projects.  Rev Michelle is also about to buy her third property to house women as they come out of prison.   https://www.why-not-prosper.org

Our Advocates for Equity Committee has been moved by the dedication and life-changing outcomes that WNP achieves. Our plan is to create a long-term relationship between WNP and Women’s Connection. We’ve already started planning programs and volunteer activities for this fall and will share these ideas with you.

Anyone interested in finding out more about this project should attend!  Rev Michelle will talk about WNP and the session will include brainstorming about ways to grow our partnership.

The session will be recorded and available to all registrants.
