(The Painting Above was Discussed at a Previous Session)
Back from summer hiatus, the popular and fascinating African American Art sessions resume on September 27!
For over two years, since April 2022, guided by artist and educator, Chichi Lovett, Women's Connection members have participated in monthly virtual conversations focused on the works of African American artists. We look at paintings, prints, photography and sculpture -- each session is focused on the work of one artist. During these fascinating sessions, we have learned to engage with all kinds of art in deeper and more illuminating ways, and we have enhanced our understanding of some of the complex social issues facing us today.
Professor Lovett’s interactive discussions are for everyone. They’re fun, direct, and highly participatory. We learn, we laugh, and we come away from these sessions not only knowing more, but SEEING more deeply. Join us!!
IMPORTANT NOTES:
(1) Prior art experience of any kind is absolutely not necessary.
(2) This is not a series - sign up for one at a time.
This is a “cameras on” live discussion – following the format of Professor Lovett’s popular online classes.
Our Presenter:
Garnetta ‘Chichi’ Lovett is a retired Auburn University tenured professor who now resides in Washington DC. She currently hosts a popular weekly online arts program that attracts a diverse national audience.
