CHI (P) - Explore Chicago! Private Tour of Chicago Cultural Center

Did you know the Chicago Cultural Center is sometimes called the “Peoples Palace”? You may have been to the Chicago Cultural Center before, but if you can join us, we will get a private tour highlighting the history and beauty of the landmarked building built in 1887.

First built as a central public library, the building was designed to impress and to prove that Chicago had grown into a sophisticated metropolis. The country’s top architects and craftsmen used the most sumptuous materials, such as rare imported marbles, polished brass, fine hardwoods, and mosaics of Favrile glass, mother-of-pearl and colored stone, to create an architectural showplace. The Chicago Cultural Center is also home to the world’s largest Tiffany Dome.

The tour will last approximately one hour and we will have lunch afterward. Your registration includes a fee of $10 which will be used as a donation to the Chicago Cultural Center. Each participant will pay for her own meal.

If you cancel before the specified cancellation deadline, the fee will be refunded to your account. However, if you cancel after the deadline or fail to attend the event without cancelling for any reason, the fee will be forfeited and WILL NOT BE REFUNDED.

Please be respectful of your fellow members and register only if you plan to attend. If you need to cancel, please cancel as early as possible so that someone on the waitlist can join. Note: It's worthwhile to sign up and get on the waitlist. Openings often occur.

Cancellation Policy:

If you are a member and cancel your registration before the specified deadline, you will receive a full refund as a credit to your account. You can use the credit to pay for another event or put it toward your annual dues payment. Non-members will receive a refund on their credit card, minus a $4 processing fee.

No refunds are available to members or non-members after the cancellation deadline.
