About this event

Wednesday, February 12, 2025, 7:00 PM -  8:30 PM ET

Building and sustaining healthy bones is essential to women’s health, especially as we age. Join Alana Serota, MDCCFP, CCD, from the Internal Medicine and Metabolic Bone Health Center for Osteoporosis and Metabolic Bone Health at HSS (Hospital for Special Surgery) to learn why women should care about bone health, what the risk factors for bone health conditions are, and prevention methods to stay healthy. Additionally, gain practical knowledge about medications and lifestyle factors that can impact your bone health.

The goals of this presentation include:
  • Educating participants about osteoporosis and related bone health conditions, including their risk factors and implications for overall well-being.
  • Outlining tips for how to prevent osteoporosis, including exercise and other lifestyle factors.
  • Equipping participants with practical knowledge about medications, lifestyle factors, and risk factors affecting bone health.
Alana Serota, MDCCFP, CCD
Dr. Serota completed training in primary care medicine in Canada. Her clinical duties and research focused on general women's health, osteoporosis care, contraceptive technologies, and access to same.
