Learn about the experience of 19th century freedom seekers in a guided hike of the Underground Railroad Experience Trail. Discover techniques used for navigation, eluding detection, and finding food/shelter. 2 miles roundtrip on a natural surface hiking trail. Trail is not ADA accessible.
We will quickly visit the Woodlawn Museum, included in your admission. If you have already visited the museum, this will give you time to watch the plays projected onto the wall. If not, the museum is in the barn and worth seeing.

Advance online tickets are highly recommended. Online sales close 12 noon day before program. Limited walk-in tickets may be available.
Please arrive early to check in at the Visitors Center. Tour starts promptly at 10am.
Wear comfortable shoes suitable for hiking on a natural surface trail (rocks, branches, mud, etc.)
Temperatures may be 5-10 degrees cooler in the woods. Wear long pants, and consider bringing bug spray.
The program will be canceled for forecasted heavy rain/thunderstorms or poor trail conditions (ex: fallen trees or deteriorated trail conditions from heavy rain). All advance ticket holders will be notified the day before the program and Debra will also send an email.
