presents
The Future of the Philadelphia Juvenile Justice System
Wednesday, February 26th
2:00 to 3:30pm via Zoom
The research is clear--young people involved in Philadelphia’s juvenile justice system are most likely to thrive at home or in home-like settings in their own communities with stable connections to positive adults and opportunities. Community-based responses are more likely to facilitate healthy development and reduce recidivism than institutional confinement. Part II of our juvenile justice series will focus on alternatives to traditional prosecution and incarceration for juvenile offenders, including early intervention strategies, diversion programs and other community-based responses as well as what is being done at the city and state levels to reform a variety of juvenile justice practices.
All Giving Circle donors are encouraged to attend both programs so that they can be better informed about the juvenile justice system and those nonprofit organizations that are trying to help young people who have interacted with the system.
