SFE (P) - Fearless Women of NM (April 19 10:00 -11:45 AM MT)
About this event
Please join us for an inspirational presentation by historian Sherry Moon!
"The great people who preceded me have inspired this presentation, Fearless Women of New Mexico. I have assembled a list of women in New Mexico, from early habitation to now, who make me take a step back to wonder how different things would be had it not been for these women who were so brave. In these times, we need those examples to inspire us so that we can be brave also." —Sherry Moon
Since childhood in Colorado, Sherry Moon journeyed with her family across the Southwest many times. She never tired of experiencing the culture and history of this fascinating region. She is passionate about the history, culture, art, architecture and natural beauty of Northern New Mexico and has studied it over and over. After college Sherry took her B.S. in Mass Communications and worked in public relations, advertising, and marketing. But after years of offices, cubicles, and elevators, she was ready to get out and see the world. She became certified as a tour manager in the travel industry so that she could experience cultures with interested travelers. For the last 20 years Sherry has led tours in Alaska, Yukon, the Western States, and student tours in Washington, D.C. Currently she is a program leader for Road Scholar here in New Mexico where the focus is on lifetime learning. Five years ago Sherry chose to make Santa Fe her home, which is a place that has haunted her spirit for years.
