This is a group for people who like to think their own thoughts, and shy away from group think. We will discuss topics of mutual interest and will meet as often as the group wishes, at times convenient for the group. Let's see where the conversation takes us!

People & Their Pets  * NEW  

If you are interested in all animal-related activities and topics, and want to speak with like-minded people, then this SIG might be for you and your pets! Potential in person events are: visits to the AKC Museum of the Dog, a gallery or museum with animal portraits or paintings, wildlife conservation events, Pet Expos or Meet the Breed Exhibits.

Crime Junkies * NEW  

Crime Junkie is the monthly meet-up for true crime fans. We can discuss psychological thrillers (preferably by women), true crime podcasts, true crime series, movies or documentaries. We can look at murder cases both unsolved and solved and discuss our own theories on who did it or who we think did it, or why we think they did it. We are a discussion group; this is our time to be detectives!

Considering Other Viewpoints

Considering Other Viewpoints is a group for those who want to understand the views of others regarding political or societal issues. We will have conversations in which we discuss those perspectives, and the perspectives of the members of the group regarding those issues. It will be interesting to see whether the discussion will lead anyone to see the validity of those other perspectives and how we think our political leaders should take action. We will convene monthly or as often as the group wishes, in person.

The Financial Group

Since, as we age, the topic of "money" can be a source of stress and concern, a new group is forming for those members who would like to discuss stocks, fixed income securities or any money category. We can share information and ideas and also arrange to meet with money managers, etc. Aging does not mean we stop thinking about how to generate income which will enable us to enjoy our interests.

Inspirational Ideas

"Inspirational Ideas" is a group for people who want to talk about how they were inspired by a book or other reading, or even just a thought.  It differs from a book or magazine club in that no reading will be required of the group and no commitment. Also, the inspirational ideas may go beyond books and articles. The group will choose a meeting time that is convenient for all (hopefully) and will schedule additional meetings with the frequency the group agrees on.

Jewish Connection

At this time,  it is very important that we come together to discuss our feelings and offer support in a warm and inclusive environment.   Let's share camaraderie and the tradition of an occasional Friday Shabbat dinner (in a restaurant or member's home) and participate in the many relevant events that NYC offers.  All are welcome.

Passionate About Education

This group is for those who are passionate about children's education. We plan to meet monthly on the fourth Thursday, remotely and/or in person, according to the preferences of the members of the group.

Open Dialogue

There is a lot of sadness and anger due to the violence and hate aimed at certain groups.   Now,  there is a group forming for those members who would like to express their feelings and emotions in a warm and supportive environment,  remembering that all opinions are valid.  Meetings will be arranged as per the needs of the group.  

Brooklyn SIG:  

Calling all Brooklyn lovers to join the newly created Brooklyn SIG! If you live in Brooklyn or just want to get to know the Borough and its amazing Women's Connection members better, the Brooklyn SIG might be for you. Get on the ground floor to create a SIG that meets your needs and interests. It’s just starting now, and we are seeking members to collaborate with their Women's Connection sisters to figure out how we want to operate and what we want to do. For now, we want to begin by meeting each other and getting to know each other better. Thus, we are thinking of mostly holding mingles but in time we imagine growing into doing whatever members are looking for.

Our current goal is to meet about once a month.  If you’d like to meet new people and make new friends, please join our SIG.  We look forward to meeting you!

Discover Queens!

Queens is NYC’s largest borough, home to 150 different cultures, with a rhythm and a beauty all its own. Discover Queens! is an opportunity to learn about this unique borough in the company of friends, with knowledgeable guides. We generally meet every other month for a prearranged tour (dates TBA). Tour attendance is on a first-to-respond basis; maximum number of participants will depend on the venue. Join us and get to know more about your hometown, or venture to this outer borough for a new experience!

Photographers' Group 

The Photo group is looking for a few more photographers to join a very special group of ladies who see life through their own unique lens. We have assignments that we do once a month, and submit 15 of our best pictures for review. It’s an interesting group that has been together for over 10 years. We are looking for two new members.

Snowbirds/Flakes 

The Snowbirds Peer Group is for Women's Connection members who fly South to Florida in the winter.  The East coast of Florida is represented and connects with the South Florida Women's Connection chapter.  The group meets in New York City and Florida. It focuses on important issues faced by Snowbirds who live in two different cities with its wonderful opportunities and challenges and helps to form new and lasting relationships at this time of life. 

Wisdom Circle 

Wisdom Circle provides the opportunity to share thoughts about some of our internal awareness and experience. We have explored intuition, divination, our purpose in life, ways of activating new sources of power and the place and quality of love in our lives.  We have touched on the wisdom of aging, the ideas of elderhood, and the use of the word "crone" to describe older women. We are interested in learning and exploring new ideas, new ways of being and new ways of knowing.
