Urban Hiking
General Information

The Urban Hiking SIG explores parks, trails, and new locations in the metro area with one or more monthly gatherings including hikes which focus on fitness and movement. Our hikes are about 3 miles and we walk at a moderate pace. Everyone is welcome to participate in any or all events throughout the year without any ongoing obligation. We also welcome suggestions from everyone on new locations to explore.

The group uses a rotational leadership model and invite members to select a location and lead a hike.

If you want to be added to the contact group list 1) add yourself to the contact group. or 2) Contact Lauren Edlund using the Member Directory.  If not a Member, please contact us with any questions you may have.

Event Information
Big Rivers Trail 10.25.24
On Friday, October 25, Chris D led 13 women on a hike at The Big River Trail in Mendota. It was a beautiful fall day and we saw two eagles soaring above us. Some walkers got lunch at Lucky's 13 following the hike.

The group decided to tempt the weather and schedule a November hike. Lisa Nelson will lead us on a hike around Lake of the Isles on Friday, November 22, at 1:30 PM. Anyone interested can join the group for lunch at noon at the Kenwood prior to the hike. This hike and lunch will be cancelled if there is inclement weather. Please be sure to register so you will receive any updates.
