JeNell has arranged a visit to painter Patricia Canney’s studio in the California Building in Northeast Minneapolis. Patricia says, “I am intrigued by dresses, garments, shoes, objects of life as well as the spaces they inhabit. As a child, I played dress-up…with a trunk of old clothes, needle, thread, fabric and sewing machine or with paper and patterns, colors and scissors. It’s what I do still. It’s what I love…figurative without the figure.”
We can park in the lot (or on the streets) of The Mojo Coffee Gallery at 2205 California St., which is attached to The California Building. We will meet in the lot before being escorted through the coffee shop to her upstairs studio.

Dawn will give a presentation on Outsider art, which is defined as art that has a naive quality, often produced by people who have not trained as artists or worked within the conventional structures of art production. It is sometimes called Folk Art. This will be a presentation on Zoom.
The Art Appreciation Group is expanding; we’re open to all the arts - theater, dance, etc. If you know of an event that you’d like to share, please send the information to Patty.
