We provide numbers opportunities to meet smart, diverse, fun-loving women in a variety of settings. To find out what's coming up,
check the calendar or the emails we send to members. Below are some examples of our activities.
Day Trips - We offer a variety of day trips to interesting places in the Boston area and around New England. Trips have included places such as Martha’s Vineyard, Newport Mansions, Mount Auburn Cemetery, Peabody Essex Museum, New England Quilt Museum, and more. The trips typically offer a lunch at a popular restaurant. Some of the trips include bus transportation.
Social Events - In the winter, we hold a potluck luncheon at the beautiful home of one of our members. In the summer, we host a picnic on the harbor in Manchester-by-the-Sea, complete with kayaking and motor boat rides. We also have an Oscars party with a chance to predict the winners and walk our own red carpet.
Virtual events - When the pandemic started, we began to organize virtual programs using Zoom, and we’ve already had 100 of them! Programs have included topics such as arts and culture, health, women’s history, social issues, and simply getting to know each other better. In our new virtual world, we have enlisted interesting speakers from all over the country. Because virtual events are so convenient, we plan to continue them as long as members are interested.
Signature Programs - Women's Connection offers signature programs that align with our mission of empowering women to thrive across life’s transitions. A few such programs include “Women in Transition” and “On Resilience” workshops, with more under development. These workshops are offered periodically in local small group sessions or virtually. WIT offers an opportunity to explore your transition within a supportive community of women and to make connections that can enrich your life.
Racial Justice Programming - We strive to be a welcoming and diverse organization. To grow and educate ourselves on the challenges of racial justice and equality, Women's Connection offers a 7 week racial justice workshop. Additional workshops are under development. In addition, speakers, focused workshops, and local volunteer opportunities are also offered. Read more on
