Dear Giving Circle Members and Friends:
As we mentioned before, Thursday, May 18th, is our biggest night of the year and we hope you choose to join us. It is the culmination of months and months of work, by our Grants Committee members, of course, but also by the many others who, through hard work and contributions, have made this our biggest grant year ever. We also cannot express enough gratitude to the nonprofit organizations who have openly shared how they work each day to improve the lives of children in Philadelphia. Over the last few months, they have worked tirelessly to educate us about their organizations from completing our application to hosting us at site visits.
On May 18, we will hear from each of the selected semi-finalists and vote to select the four nonprofits to receive a grant of $30,000 each. It is the night on which all of our work comes down to choosing, from the many worthy applicants, those that we will financially support this year. It is the night when we hear about the amazing work they are all doing to improve the lives of underserved children in Philadelphia and then make the really tough decision about which four to support this year.
