NYC – (P) Explore NYC Private Walking tour - Chinatown Highlights and Secrets (11AM ET)
Venture through old Chinatown and learn about its origins, history and architecture. On this approximately one-mile tour, you will walk the neighborhood’s crooked streets (which date to the mid-1700s), hear colorful stories of its earliest days, and see some of Manhattan’s oldest buildings, including “secret” 18th and 19th century houses hidden behind later alterations.
Stops will include landmarks such as the infamous “Bloody Angle,” the headquarters of Chinatown’s first “boss,” the spot where Irving Berlin wrote his first song, New York’s oldest tenement, the only remaining 17th century structure in Manhattan, the Shearith Israel cemetery and many more.
After our tour attendees can join fellow TTNers for (pay-your-own) lunch at a Chinese restaurant recommended by our tour guide, who knows the best places to eat.
PLEASE NOTE:
Masks are not required at this outdoor event, although you are welcome to wear one since attendees will be in close proximity. You will be asked to confirm that you have been fully vaccinated against covid when you register on the TTN website.
