Have you seen references to “mindfulness” and “meditation” in commercials on TV, in movies, articles, on phone apps, and wondered what it’s all about? In this presentation, Isabelle Schoenfeld (Is) will describe what mindfulness and meditation means and the benefits of their application.

Is believes “that no matter what comes up in life, personal or societal, the teachings offer us a guide on how to live in mindful awareness instead of reactivity—a deeply effective and valuable practice in our chaotic world!”

Topics to be covered include:

  • What are the characteristics of Mindfulness & Meditation and the benefits of integrating each into your life
  • Various ways to meditate
  • A brief meditation exercise
  • How Mindfulness and Meditation can help you live a life filled with
compassion and lovingkindness, the ability to forgive yourself and others, and ways to experience more gratitude, generosity, and joy.

There will be time for questions and sharing.

"Mindfulness is a way of befriending ourselves and our experience."  Jon Kabat-Zinn
