The largest Hindu temple in the United States and this is our opportunity to see its newest (10/23) addition! In Sanskrit, Mandir means a place where the mind becomes still and experiences inner peace. Since Vedic times, India's sages have been enlightened with profound spiritual truths which have served as the foundation for their rituals, philosophies, scientific discoveries, and religious faith. As an expression of their spiritual faith, the yogis evolved and created beautiful Mandirs to uphold these traditions. In a similar token, this Mandir aims to serve as a place of understanding and appreciation of India's art, culture, and religion for generations to come. It is a sanctuary for countless men and women, who will be able to sustain their culture and heritage in the form of arts, language, music, and spiritual learning. The BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Robbinsville, NJ inspires its visitors through its divinity, architecture, and humanitarian efforts. In addition to a guided tour, our temple visit will include the "Arti Ceremony" - an ancient Hindu offering made by waving lighted wicks before sacred images to the accompaniment of musical prayer and the "Abhishek Ceremony" - a special Hindu ritual of deep faith and devotion in an expression of reverence and a prayer for spiritual progress, peace and fulfillment of wishes. The Temple (Robbinsville, NJ) is about an hour's drive from Center City Philadelphia. We will make every effort to assist with car pool arrangements. Please email CarolSellsPhilly@gmail.com to let her know if you will drive and can take passengers or if you need a ride. Be sure to indicate where you live. Please note that cancellations are accepted through 4/3/24 (no refunds will be issued after that date). In the event that you need to cancel before the deadline, a credit will be issued to your TTN account for future use.
