Women are sexual beings, no matter our age. One thing that doesn’t change as we get older is our ability to enjoy sensual pleasure through sex and other forms of intimacy. What is likely to change is how we define sex and how we experience it, partnered or solo. Intimacy becomes even more vital to our overall health. In an interactive format, Carolyn and Catherine will explore sexuality and intimacy from various perspectives: influences of early messages on your mindset about sex; physical and emotional changes that might affect your sexual experiences; the advantages of solo sex; and various ways to enhance your pleasure. As sex educator Joan Price says, “Sex and intimacy have no expiration date.” Let’s talk about this, out loud.
Carolyn Torkelson MD and Catherine Marienau PhD are co-authors of Beyond Menopause: New Pathways to Holistic Health (2022). Carolyn is an integrative medicine physician whose clinical practice focuses on women’s health. Catherine is an adult educator with expertise in adult learning and neuroscience {and is co-founder/co-host of Women Over 70: Aging Reimagined}.
