PHL (P) Tree House Books Tour and Community Volunteering
About this event
Tree House Books Tour and Community Volunteering
Come join your fellow TTN members for a tour of the Tree House Books facility in North East Philadelphia, followed by a Community Volunteer activity. Learn about the impact this incredible organization has on children and families, followed by a hands-on activity of stamping and packaging books for families in the area.
Tree House Books is a Giving Library and Literacy Center and was the recipient of a 2021 Giving Circle grant. It was founded in 2005, with the purpose of providing easy access to free books and creating a life filled with books for children and families. There is also an Out of School Time (OST) program designed to keep kids engaged with books while school is not in session. Ultimately, the goal is to put books in every home in Philadelphia and encourage families to read together.
These programs serve the community! Tree House Books reaches children from their earliest moments, through high school, and their adulthood with the goal of promoting a lifelong love of reading and writing.
Public Transportation is available via the subway and bus.
