Were you a Girl Scout? If so, you have something in common with women such as Madeleine Albright, Condoleezza Rice, and Hillary Clinton, who all served as Secretary of State of the U.S.A., as well as astronauts Eileen Collins (first female space shuttle commander) and Kathryn Sullivan (first female spacewalker and former head of COSI). Tammy Wharton, President & CEO of Girl Scouts of Ohio's Heartland Council (GSOH), will be speaking to us about the relevance of Girl Scouts today and the Council's "Dream Big" STEM Center Project. Ms. Wharton has been President & CEO since November 2008. GSOH serves girls from 30 counties in Central and Southeastern Ohio. The mission of Girl Scouts is to "show girls that they have the power to have a positive effect on not just their community, but the world. With the support and essential leadership skills that Girl Scouting provides, girls are empowered to truly aim for the stars." In addition to hearing from Ms. Wharton, we'd love to hear from those of you that were Girl Scouts. Feel free to bring your badge sashes and pictures to share with everyone!
